William Adam, a pupil of Sir William Bruce, built for himself the mansion of Blairadam in the south of the county. Apart from its archtectural features, Blairadam House is also of interest as being the place where Sir Walter Scott and the other members of the Blairadam Club foregathered to spend the week-ends with their host, the grandson of Bruce's pupil.
